Serenity9 first encountered rope at the GTA Rope Social where rope enthusiasts were identifying rope type and manufacture by look and feel. That’s when he realized rope was an incredibly geeky pastime and took to it with glee. Over the last year his rope interests and style has become heavily influenced by the Japanese shibari/kinbaku style of rope bondage. He attends international conferences on rope, taught locally, performed for guerrilla art installations, and done demo work for community events and trade shows. If you ask him, “why he ties?” he would be the first to answer “I tie up pretty girls as a pastime…do I really have to explain it!?”
